The South Australian Wingless Sprints held their presentation dinner for season 2011/2012 on the 14th of July at the Country Comfort Adelaide Manor. The awards for the placegetters in the Oval Track Imports Wingless Sprint Series starting with trophies being awarded to Top 5 finishers with Brad Evans finishing in 5th place. There was a tie for 3rd postion with Jarman Dalitz and Mikayla Hein finishing on equal points. Cody Atkins finished in the runner-up position and Todd Wigzell was the Series Champion after taking a clean sweep of the feature races in the series. Todd Wigzell also took the Murray Bridge Glass Driver of The Year Award thanks to his efforts in winning the Australian Wingless Sprint Title and another 10 feature race wins during the season. Lucy Evans was rewarded for her efforts during the season, receiving the Most Improved Driver award. Anthony McMillan received the encouragement award in recognition of the ongoing support he has given by attending all rounds of Oval Track Imports Wingless Sprint Series in the last two seasons. Jason Demaine was the winner of the Hard Luck Award, while Brad Evans and the Kenny Brothers Racing Team were awarded with the Best Presented Car & Crew. Mikayla Hein received the Rookie of the Year Award after winning 3 feature races and finishing 4th in Australian Title during the season. Trophies were awarded for the top 3 finishers in both the club Heat Race and Feature Race point standings. In the Heat Race Points, Mikayla Hein finished in 3rd position, Jarman Dalitz in 2nd position and Joel Chadwick accumulated the highest amount of heat race points throughout season 2011/2012 In the Feature Race standings, Todd Wigzell finished 3rd in points with, Jarman Dalitz 2nd and Cody Atkins scoring the most points in feature races for the season. The President’s Headache Award went to Robin Atkins for the 2nd year, and Julie Falland and Darryl Sloan were awarded the Bill Wigzell Club Person of the Year award. Appreciation Plaques were awarded to Oval Track Imports, Max Dumseny Motorsport, Active Motor Wreckers, All States Auditing & Accreditation Services, Blair Athol Auto Parts and Murray Bridge Glass for their support of the 2011/2012 Oval Track Imports Wingless Sprint Series Appreciation Plaques were also awarded to Country Comfort Adelaide Manor, SA Pergola Specialists, Julianne Hein, ASCO Fabrications, Linda Savage and Mark Bennett for their support during the 2011/2012 season. Finally, a shocked Darryl Bottams was awarded with Life Membership as a reward for his ongoing efforts to support the class as the President of the South Australian Wingless Sprints.
